Happy Valentines day!
Idag är det som sagt alla hjärtans dag! När jag var hos min värdfamilj så var det ett väldans tisslande och tasslande innan den 14 februari. Det skulle skrivas kärleksbrev, ritas hjärtan, göras presenter, slå in presenter och bakas.
På alla hjärtans dag så kom jag som vanligt ut i köket på morgonen, jag brukade alltid vara först uppe av mig och barnen, men denna dag så stod min äldsta kille i köket med ett brev. Han sa ”Here you go Lina, it´s for you, happy valentines!” Jag blev så oerhört glad! Jag öppnade brevet och där hade han skrivit:
Roses are red
Violets are blue
AND I LOVE YOU!
Jag blev så glad och rörd, det var verkligen gulligt gjort tyckte jag. Jag har fortfarande brevet kvar i mitt USA album, det är väldigt kul att se tillbaka på det 7 år efter att jag lämnat familjen.

Valentines day was one of the more exciting days of the year, especially when I was younger and in elementary school! We got to spend the whole day doing arts and crafts, which was my favorite. In the morning we found an old shoe box and brought with us to school. Our teacher would cut a slot in the top and then we were let free on it with our paint brushes and markers. They were painted, colored, stickered, and glued. Now that I look back they probably looked ridiculous, but I remember thinking how amazingly beautiful mine was! We had also brought with us from home valentines day cards for everyone in our class. They were usually either handmade cards or the little cards you could buy at the drugstore with cartoons on them. Sometimes we would tape some candy to the cards, like lollypops or the quintessential sweetheart candy. If you find yourself in the US, make sure not to miss sweethearts! Best valentines candy ever!
