Please take a moment to help me help others!

I'm writing this weeks blog excerpt in English so that all my family and friends, as well as current, past, and future au pairs can pass this along to their loved ones around the world
I am a person that loves challenges and I am also very passionate about helping less fortunate children whenever the opportunity arises. I have a certain soft spot for Cultural Care?s Kids First projects and feel very connected to all their causes. I have been fortunate enough in my upbringing to have parents that have kept food on the table, so I feel compelled to help those without the same good fortune. This summer I decided to sign up to run the Stockholm Marathon, 42.2 kilometers (OMG!!!) on the streets of Stockholm, and will be running in Kids First?s name. I see my run as something symbolic for raising money for children around the world. You can read more about the projects that the Kids First charity supports here.

The run is in 5 days and I am pretty terrified about it. I started my hardcore training for this run by unfortunately being sick for 2 weeks? which means that I am a bit behind in my schedule. However, I am a very competitive person and I?m 100% sure that I'll finish this! The best part of all this is that you have the opportunity to help me! When my energy level begins to dip during the race, I will need that extra motivation to keep me going! My motivation is to think about all the money I can raise by running and I can tell you, I really need that motivation. I have the highest hopes that everyone I know can donate $10 (right now only 65 SEK for those of you who live in Sweden!!!) for this great cause and I kindly ask you to do so! What's even better is that Cultural Care Au Pair will match each donation made, $10 sums up to $20! My dream is, besides finishing this Marathon alive, to raise $750 for Kids First and have Cultural Care Au Pair are matching that donation to $1500!!!

You can either donate money directly to me the next time we meet, give Cultural Care a call and ask to add an amount to your next invoice or, if you are in the US, send a check to Cultural Care Kids First Foundation and write Ida in the comment field.

PS. This is how I looked like after last year's half Marathon, as you can see, I NEED your support and so does a lot of children around the world!
