I also spent a lot of one on one time with my host child who took the opportunity to beat me in monopoly and a board game called ”mini-curling”. He also had a long conversation with me about their current president and took some time to explain to me about ”Obamacare”. Once in a while I forgot that he was the same boy I carried around 6 years ago with his blanket and pacifiers. I definitely noticed that he had turned out to be this fantastic little person - wise, clever and social young boy with a big sense of humor. It also crossed my mind that he had spent his life with 6 different au pairs and all of these au pairs have been a part of his development and part of who he is today. Keep that in mind: the smallest things in the everydaylife with your host children might have a big impact on their future. I love my host child and he is always going to have a special place in my heart.

Caring for future!
One
month before Christmas I visited my host family in Boston for the second time
since I was an au pair with them. We had some wonderful days together and
it was great seeing them again after a couple of years apart . We kept us busy
with some shopping of course, had dinner at few nice restaurants in the area
and walked around at the famous local apple orchards.
